West Indies' embarrassing batting against India

West Indies lost by 88 runs in the fifth and final T20I match against India with embarrassing batting. With this, India won the five-match series 4-1.

Chasing a winning target of 189 runs for victory, West Indies were all out for 100 runs in 15.4 overs. Shimran Hetmyer of West Indies scored 56 runs off 35 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Shamrah Brooks was dismissed for 13 and Devon Thomas for 10 runs.

8 West Indies players could not score runs in double figures. Out of which five players could not open their accounts. Captain Nicholas Pooran was dismissed for 3 and Rovman Powell for 9 runs.

Indian spinner Ravi Vishroi took 4 wickets for 16 runs in 2.4 overs. Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets with 1 maiden in 4 overs for 12 runs. Spinner Akshar Patel took 3 wickets with 1 maiden in 3 overs for 15 runs.

After losing the toss and batting first, India scored 188 runs losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Indian opener Shreyas Iyer scored 64 runs off 40 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Hardik Pandya was run out for 28 runs off 16 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Opener Ishan Kishan was dismissed for 11 and Deepak Hooda for 38 runs. Hooda hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in 25 balls. Sanju Samson was out for 15 runs and Dinesh Karthik was out for 12 runs. Oden Smith of West Indies took 3 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs. Jason Holder, Dominic Deaux, and Hayden Wells Jr. took one wicket each.
