UAE wins ACC Women’s T20 Championship 2022 UAE defeated Malaysia by 5 wickets to become the champions.
Chasing a victory target of 101 runs for the victory, UAE lost 5 wickets in 18.4 overs. UAE’s young opener Thirth Satish top-scored with 55 off 42 balls with nine fours.
Isha Rohit Ojha scored 7, Kavisha Agodage 9, and Khusi Sharma 13 runs. Malaysia’s Elisa, Nick Nur, and Mass Elisa took one wicket.
Batting first after winning the toss at Kinrara Academy Oval, Malaysia lost 4 wickets in 20 overs and scored 100 runs. Malaysia’s Van Julia scored 20, Ilsa Hunter 15, Anna Hamijah 28, and Nur Ariana Natsya scored 25 runs. Indhuja Nanda Kumar took two wickets.
In the semi-finals, UAE reached the final due to the winner of Group A. After the match between Nepal and UAE ended due to rain, UAE reached the final based on the group winner. UAE was all out for 81 in 19.5 overs. But due to rain, Nepal could not bat in the second innings.
In the second semi-final, Malaysia defeated Hong Kong by 12 runs to make it to the final. Malaysia and UAE have been selected for the Asia Cup. It remains to be seen where and when this year’s Asia Cup will take place.
The Asia Cup will feature India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, and the UAE. Isha of UAE was selected as the best batsman and the best player in the third competition.
