The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has canceled the press conference it was going to organize regarding the Nepal T20 League. CAN has said that today’s press conference had to be canceled for technical reasons.
It is understood that Can has suddenly canceled the press conference after the accusation of raping a minor against Nepali national cricket team captain Sandeep Lamichhane. CAN organize a press conference on T20 at Hotel Hyatt Palace in Bafal.
CAN has not yet released an official opinion on the allegations against Sandeep. Acting Secretary of CAN, Prashant Malla, did not want to be contacted when trying to get a response on the fact that a complaint has been registered with the police.
Sandeep is currently in the Caribbean country of Saint Lucia to play in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Jamaica, which he belongs to, will play against Saint Lucia tomorrow at 5:00 am.
The CPL will be held till October 1. Sandeep’s last league match for Jamaica is on September 25.
