Nepal T20 Spot Fixing

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) has completed the investigation of the spot-fixing case and handed it over to the District Attorney’s Office.

According to CIB sources, the public prosecutor’s office has given its opinion to prosecute 12 people. Now the public prosecutor’s office will study the report and prepare the charge sheet and the case will be registered in the court.

Police arrested former cricketer Mehboob Alam and current cricketer Adil Ansari for spot-fixing during the Nepal T20 League.

The CIB has proposed to prosecute Nitesh Gupta, Rahul Sharma, Samir Sheikh, Ravi Majhi, Andrew McCarthy, Vikash Dhami, Navin Kandel, and Virendra Shah along with Jatin Aluwalia and Abhishek Saklani of the Indian company Seven Three Sports, which is in charge of organizing the league.

According to the National Sports Development Act 2077, an opinion has been given to demand imprisonment of up to 3 years and a fine of up to 50,000 rupees against them.
