The Nepali Police has proceeded with the investigation against the captain of the Nepali national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane after a complaint of extortion against a minor was made. The Gaushala police circle has started an investigation after a complaint was registered against Sandeep on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the police have collected the CCTV footage of the hotel where Sandeep was staying on the night of the incident. The CCTV footage of the hotel where he was staying in Nagarkot and Kathmandu was obtained by the police.
It has been reported that on August 5, Sandeep took a 17-year-old girl to a hotel in Sinamangal and repeatedly raped her. The police said that after the complaint was registered, the girl’s health was examined and further investigation is underway. It is mentioned in the complaint that he went to visit Bhaktapur with the girl on August 5, drank alcohol in the hotel there in the evening and returned to Kathmandu at night, and raped the girl at the hotel. It has been revealed that Sandeep and the girl went for a visit to Nagarkot on August 1.
According to a police officer involved in the investigation, it was seen on the CC camera that Sandeep and the girl went to a hotel in Sinamangal. The footage has not yet arrived from the hotel in Nagarkot.
