Nepal has defeated Malaysia by 25 runs in the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifiers. Along with this, Nepal is in the third position and has been eliminated from the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers.

Chasing a victory target of 87 for victory, Malaysia scored 61 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Malaysia’s top batsman and captain Elsa Hunter top-scored with 28 off 32 balls with three fours. The other batsmen didn’t perform well.

Nepal captain Kritika Marasini took 2 wickets for 6 runs in 4 overs with 1 maiden. Manisha Kumari Upadhyay took 1 wicket. Before that, Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first at the UKM SD Cricket Oval.

For Nepal, opener Anjali Bishwakarma top-scored with 33 off 54 balls with two boundaries. Ashma Pulami Magar was dismissed for 26 off 38 balls with one four. Kiran Kumari Kunwar, Shrishti Jaishi, Anu Kadayat, and Sanu Rajbanshi were all out for 3-3.

Nepal defeated Qatar by 79 runs in the first match and lost by 10 wickets to UAE. Nepal was all out for 8 runs with UAE. Despite defeating Bhutan by 4 wickets, Nepal’s dream of playing in the World Cup came to an end after losing by 49 runs to Thailand.

The top team in the six-team competition will qualify for next year’s U-19 Women’s World Cup in South Africa. Today there is competition between Thailand and UAE. The winning team will reach the World Cup.

UAE is at the top of the table with 8 points in 4 games. Thailand is in second place with 8 points from 4 games. Nepal finished third with 6 points after winning 3 of 5 matches and losing 2.

Malaysia is in the fourth position with 2 wins and 3 losses in 5 games. Qatar and Bhutan are fifth and sixth in the same four games with no points.
