In reply, Australia took a big lead by scoring 321 runs in their first innings. After his stellar performance, he has joined the top-10 list of bowlers with the most wickets in Test cricket.
Nathan Lyon now has 436 wickets in 109 Test matches. He is currently at number 10 in the list of highest wicket-taker bowlers. He is just 3 wickets behind Dale Steyn at number 9. On the other hand, veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran is 6 wickets behind Ashwin.
Let us tell you that the record of taking most wickets in Test cricket is in the name of former Sri Lankan legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan. Muralitharan took 800 wickets in 133 matches in his Test career. During this, he achieved the feat of taking 5 wickets 67 times and 10 wickets 22 times in a match.
