Malaysia has announced its 14-member squad for the upcoming ACC Premier Cup to be held in Nepal from May 5 to 18. The tournament will be played at TU and Mulpani grounds and will feature ten teams divided into two groups.
The Malaysian team will be led by captain Ahmad Faiz and vice-captain Virandeep Singh. Other members of the squad include Saeed Aziz, Sharwin Munaandadi, Amir Azim, Friti Sam, Khizr Hayat, Rizwan, Vijay Unni, Anwar Rahman, Nazril Rahman, Mohammad Azam, Wafiq Ifran and Mohammad Syahdat.
In Group A, Malaysia will face off against Nepal, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Group B will consist of Hong Kong, UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Bahrain. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the winner getting the chance to play India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
Malaysia will begin their campaign by taking on the host team, Nepal, on April 18, followed by a match against Saudi Arabia on April 20 at Mulpani. The team will then play Oman on May 10 and Qatar on May 12, with hopes of making it to the semi-finals.
